3200 Meter Run
Berkeley Springs' Rachel Buser proved to be one of the top stories from this year's meet as she became only the 2nd WV girl ever to go under 11:00. Buser's time proved to be just a bit faster, though, as she crossed the line as the All-Time top 3200 performer in any class. Buser went out aggressively, really pulling away on lap 3. She crossed the mile mark in 5:22 and came back in 5:35. Lost in the Buser hoopla was the oustanding performance by her teammate Valerie Peer who turned in the 6th fastest Class AA 3200 time ever in easily taking 2nd. Tyler Consolidated's Brenna Hagerty smartly did not get caught up in the early pace of Buser and Peer and took 3rd. Ritchie's Jamie Cokeley used a bold burst at the start of the last lap and at one point had passed Hagerty. She just held off Weir's Angela Lamp who nearly took the spot back with a final kick of her own. Lamp had gone out aggressively, running with Peer for the first 3 laps. Winfield's Holly Rooper claimed the 6th spot. The first 4 finishers came in under 12:00.
RunWV's Current Score: 26 of 30.

Class AA Boys

4x800 Meter Relay
Winfield's Ricardo Atkinson and Ravenswood's Andrew Benford each led off in just under 2:00. However, Ravenswood botched their handoff, with their second runner stumbling and then tumbling to the track. In the time it took to get to his feet, Winfield was gone and several other teams had passed as well. At the end of two legs, Winfield had a substantial lead, a full 6 seconds ahead of Magnolia. Ravenswood was 10 seconds back. After 3 legs, Winfield still held a 6 second lead, but it was Scott who had moved into 2nd. Ravenswood was still 8 seconds back. On the anchor leg, a 2:02 split from Charles Smith was plenty to hold the lead for Winfield, who won by over 4 seconds. Ravenswood used a 1:58.5 leg from Ben Miller to storm back into 2nd place. Scott held off Magnolia for 3rd. Philip Barbour took 5th off a 2:00 anchor leg from Wayne Ridgway. Braxton claimed the final point.
RunWV's Current Score: 5 of 6.

Philip Barbour took the final two spots with a Freshman and a Sophomore, Michael Hunter and Aaron Gould, respectively.

Sorry, but I don't have many notes from this. By the time lap 6 was completed, Ravenswood's Andrew Benford had pulled out to a 6 second lead. Poca's Matt Null and Winfield's Zach Noel were even for 2nd. By the end of lap 7, Benford had stretched his lead to a comfortable 9 seconds. Null had pulled out on Noel by 2 seconds. On the final lap, Benford cruised to the victory. Null used a late surge to hold off a kicking Noel. Grafton's Brandon Miles held onto 4th. 110 Meter High Hurdles
This was another highly anticipated race with three people having very legitimate shots at taking the title. In the end, the power of Keyser's Jarran Shockley was too much for Ritchie's Zach Linville to overcome and he took the victory for the second year in a row. The margin was a scant 0.06. Shady Spring's Kane Gyovai had a shaky start and couldn't get back to the leaders, but did pull through into 3rd place, edging Sissonville's Kenner Lowe by 0.04 for the spot. Ritchie came out of the 1st heat to take 6th.
RunWV's Current Score: 72 of 84.

Berkeley Springs wasn't far off the pace, coming in 44.03. Keyser also ran under 44.5 and was the only other team to run under 45 seconds. Bluefield was solidly in 4th. Magnolia edged Weir by 0.01 for 5th.
RunWV's Current Score: 77 of 90.

800 Meter Run
It was believed that three people had a shot to take the title, and those three people took the top three spots, with all going under 2:00. Ravenswood's Ben Miller ended up winning convincingly, pulling away down the stretch to win by over a second in 1:58.48. 4x400 Meter Relay
